Continuing Education

“Lunch and Learn” – What a great way to acquire new knowledge.  Walker offers three accredited courses to architects, designers and specifiers to assist you in your understanding of ideal and creative applications in the use of our products.

Knowledge as a Source of Inspiration

The Basic One

Walker’s first of three courses is called, “Using and specifying acid-etched glass or mirror in interior or exterior glass applications”. It provides a comprehensive overview of what your creative mind can do with this material. The presentation covers critical aspects, such as product characteristics, properties, specifications and constructability. The project review section will give you a feel for what your peers have done with acid-etched glass and mirror. This one hour course provides one AIA/HSW learning unit to members of the American Institute of Architects or to members of other local architectural associations.

More is Better

The second course offered by Walker is called, “Integration of acid-etched glass in exterior glazing systems. It focuses on acid-etched glass as used in exterior glazing systems and covers product characteristics, properties, and constructability which will facilitate your decision process.

The third course is called “Bird-friendly building design with acid-etched glass”. The bird friendly presentation will help you understand how the risk of bird collision against building facades can be significantly reduced. This presentation covers aspects such as bird migration patterns, collision risk factors, key research findings, product testing, standards and guidelines, as well as types of acid etched glass solutions and a comparative analysis of various design solutions.

The second and third courses are each one hour long and provide one AIA/HSW learning unit and one hour of GBCI CE.
